Gold Coast Radio Yacht Club Inc.

Lake Laguna, Palm Beach - Queensland, Australia

Welcome to our piece of sailing paradise!

RC sailing can be a fun, enjoyable sport, hobby for people of all ages and gender!

We currently are able to sail the IOM, 10R and RM (Marblehead) classes at our Club.

If you are interested in getting involved in radio sailing, our members will be very happy to answer any questions, (or point you in the right direction for info) and let you have a sail of their boat should you desire to try your hand.

Sailing a radio controlled yacht can be quite easy.

Basically there are only 2 controls being for 1) the sail and 2) the rudder, however, sailing well is the hard part - but not difficult to do at all!

Please Note:

Due to the Covid-19 virus restrictions in place now, regular sailing days are now on Wednesdays ONLY - those from outside Qld MUST carry a border pass and abide by our Club's "distance and hygiene" rules that are in place re distance etc.

Sailing on other days is permissible with a Club rescue boat shed key holder only!!! - give the buoys plenty of room!!

Our Club sails throughout the year on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1030hrs (QLD Time).

The only exeption to these times being Xmas day and New Year's day should they fall on our regular days.

Members will be very pleased to meet you, and we are keen to introduce new people to the sport.

Recently, we have re-introduced dedicated handicap racing to be held on the 1st Wednesday each month.

Currently, by consensus,  we mostly have scratch racing.
